Sayers is one of a number of producer-engineers who are associated with the Melbourne popular music scene of the 1960s and 1970s and in particular with the renowned Armstrong's Studios, the venue where many of the most successful Australian pop/rock recordings of the period were recorded. He created the leading studio acoustics Forum Recording Studio Design.

The Akademia Music Awards

American based country music super star Tim McGraw recently revealed that the David Briggs penned classic "Lonesome Loser" was on his favouite hit list.

In an article on the BMLG website on Tim's favourite albums, he is quoted as saying "Little River Band Greatest Hits would be up there. I love the Little River Band, I mean, it reminds me of the beach, for some reason. That’s one I would play for my kids when they were little. Every time I’d pull the boat into the beach I’d play ‘Lonesome Loser’ as loud as I could. So, that would be up there."

We here at the Production Workshop are happy to return to kudos, because we love Tim's music as well.

2015

Production Workshop is very proud to have been involved in a new 3-disc collectors edition release, celebrating the 40th anniversary of iconic Australian band Skyhooks. The release features the first two albums, additional tracks and a bonus live disc. David Briggs mastered the project, and mixed several of the live performances.

‘Living In The 70s’ had a cultural effect in Australia not unlike The Beatles before them and Nirvana later. For the first time an Australian act was singing about Australian places reflecting real life from the streets. Skyhooks were a totally unique band at the time.

‘Don’t You Believe What You’ve Seen Or You’re Heard’ was developed by Warner Music’s in-house archival guru Dave Laing and every step of the process ticked off by Skyhooks founder Greg Macainsh.

It's due for release October 30th on Festival through Warner Music Australia.
